Miles' teeth

I've been trying to get fun, new videos of Miles crawling, standing up, clapping... you name it! Unfortunately he's not is the mood to cooperate. I was successful (well, kind of) in getting a couple pictures of his mouthful of teeth. (Below: teeth #5-7)

Aren't those new top teeth huge? The poor kid has apparently been cursed with my huge teeth. Luckily, these will fall out and there's still a little bit of hope!

Other than that... life is alright out here. Miles is crawling, pulling himself up to stand, scaling the side of the couch, clapping, laughing, and getting into trouble - all the things crazy little boys do.

Ahh.. little boy!! Nate's most famous Miles line has been - he's not a baby anymore - he's a kid now... That is so true. The innocent baby is gone, and the active little boy has emerged. For as crazy as our days and nights have been lately, he's still one of the best blessings we've ever been given! If every kid was a great at Miles, I'd probably want 7 of them... just like the Klinge's.

Kids are great - every responsible adult couple should have at least one!!

‘I love you’ notes

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers – you know who you are!  A special I love you to Nate, Dad, and Paul!!  Where would we or our children be without our fathers!  I’m very grateful for each of them.

But.. to give Nate credit where credit is due.  A week or so ago…. Nate flooded the apartment with post-it notes. He wrote ‘I love you’ on each of them… and hid them in various places around the house – including the microwave, the formula container, the fridge, the wipes container, my dresser, and the washing machine. There were more than 30 of these notes!! I loved it! so… here’s a picture of some of them :)

Miles Changes SO Fast!!

Ok.. so i was just sitting here thinking about how boring life was before Miles. Life has changed, a lot!!! But... life has gotten so much better :) No 2 days are ever the same anymore, and Miles changes on an hourly basis as well..

He's such a tiny little guy with CRAZY hair!

Eyes and smile keep getting bigger and brighter, but round 1 of hair is gone...

... and now, Miles at 7 months!

The crazy hair has returned bringing an infinite amount of personality!

I love being a mom :)~

Miles is getting more mobile

Sooo.. Apparently our little man thinks he's a big enough kid to try and stand up. I have yet to witness this, but the daycare lady (Jessica) said that he scooted across the floor in order to get closer to a really low shelf. He reached up and got himself to his knees. When pulling up again to try and make it to his feet, his feet when out from under him... He gave up for the day then!! WOW... isn't he a little young for that!?

I will do my best to get this on camera for your viewing pleasure. I cannot wait to see him flex his skills while I get to watch.

He has mastered spinning 360's on his tummy, pushing himself backwards, getting up onto his hands and knees to rock back and forth (usually ending in a face plant), and rolling in any and all directions. Again, these are just a couple more skills I would like to capture with the camera! I promise to share!

Life in New York

Life in New York is very, very different. Besides the crazy driving, toll roads, and incessant honking, everything goes up. The buildings are taller and there really aren't any parking lots, just parking ramps. For example, the Walmart is 2 levels of a 6 story building. The first 3 levels are parking. Luckily, you don't have to pay to park there - as long as you have a receipt proving a purchase of at least $5. (for those who just have to know, the remaining level is a Burlington coat Factory.) The price of everything has also gone up, but that was to be expected. Time to travel anywhere is also increased - again to be expected.

With our transistion time coming to a close, and a real New York life about to begin, my anxiety levels are finally starting to settle. My plan in to hit the ground running at my new job and show the East coast just what they are all missing in the midwest. Miles will start his new 'academy' style daycare - my hope is that he will show all of those stuffy, rich kids how to play and have a little fun. Nate plans to absorb every ounce of information he can come across. He knows this is an opportunity of a lifetime and he doesn't want to miss a thing.

We are doing good for now... Don't worry about us! We miss family, friends, and coworkers lots... Knowing that we will be home soon to visit is what keeps me (us) going. Miss you all and love you lots!!!
