Following Miles’ first practice, we colored eggs for Easter!
Since we were unable to travel for the holiday, it seemed only fitting we try it out again. Miles is now quite a bit older than he was the first and only time we colored eggs. He think he enjoyed it AND, thankfully, made me much less nervous this time!
All ready to dip…
I want the red one first, please!
Patience, young man! You’re learning patience!
Dip, wait, fish out, and admire!
Two at a time? Aren’t you the little independent thinker?
The eggs are looking great! I was nervous for no reason.
Wait.. What did you ask?
You’re right, yellow and blue make green!
Wait, want to put that blue egg in the orange cup? I don’t think that’s a good… Uh oh.
Uh oh was right!… at least our new large supply of brown-ish eggs taste the same as the pretty eggs we had 20 minutes earlier!
Today’s checklist:
- Fine motor skill practice
- Patience practice
- Art time
- Family Fun
- Lessons about color mixing
- Lessons about the real meaning of Easter
We were sad that we were missing out on quality family time back in Iowa, but were excited for the extra family time for just the 3 of us! We successfully made the best of it – couldn’t ask for more!

we definitely missed you guys, but it sounds like it was a fun-filled Easter weekend... with soccer practice, bike riding, and egg-dying!
