First REAL Drawing

We've been working with Miles a lot lately, trying to get him to write ABC's and draw happy faces.  Until recently, everything was a scribble.  A few months ago, his "M's" became recognizable.  I didn't think drawing his dad's pretty face would be next - BUT I'm so giddy that it is!

I know I brag about him a lot, but I really do think he's pretty amazing.

Miles grabbed some of his dad's 'already-been-drawn-on' architecture paper (tracing paper) and a red 'architect' pen and said:

Miles: Dad, I'm going to draw with this, ok?
Nathan: Good idea, Miles. Draw on the paper, not the table.
Miles: OK
Kelly: Miles, what are you going to draw?
Miles: I'm going to draw dad. [turns to Nate and studies his face]
Kelly: Ok.  Can you make a circle for his head?
Miles: No. Daddy's head is an oval. [draws the head]
Kelly: Great job! What else is on dad's head?
Miles: Eyes. 2 of them.
Kelly: Ok.  What else?
Miles: A nose. Just one.
Kelly: And what does daddy's mouth look like?
Miles: [draws a mouth] and he needs hair.
Kelly:  Looks great, Miles. Do you need anything else?
Miles: Yes. He has 2 ears.
Kelly: Good job. Are you done?
Miles: Nope. [draws lower extremities] He needs legs and shoes. Big shoes. ALL DONE!
Kelly and NathanMiles! GREAT JOB!!

Take a look for yourself!

I wonder what the art of Salvador Dali or Rembrandt looked like when they were 3 years old?
