Miles began the day practicing his tech-y skills. Can you tell how much he adores his dad?
After a fancy breakfast of cereal and milk, we quickly showered and packed up for a big day in the city. We rode the “choo-choo” train into grand central station and walked 2 miles or so to central park. We planned to stop by FAO Schwartz quickly to grab a ball. How could be possibly enjoy a day in the park without a ball?!?! Silly parents!
POP question: do you know what is located very, very close to FAO Schwartz?? The Apple Store…. Normally, this would not be an issue. However on the morning of Apple’s launch of their new iPad – it’s a very, bad idea!
This is the view of the hysteria from across the street. On our way home 6+ hours later, the crowd was even worse! News vans and helicopters were flooding the place too, interviewing people who bought the new item and getting ridiculous aerial photos!
On to central park…. We walked, and walked, and walked to let Miles enjoy a nap. Miles woke up quickly and could sit in his stroller a minute longer once he saw the water and the puppies.
We ate a late lunch of hot dogs or gyros from a street cart vendor and headed to the zoo inside central park.
Miles checked out the ducks, the llamas, the cow, the pigs and turtles. He wanted to climb on the turtle shell ‘things’ but they were always full of much bigger kids.
It’s ok… Miles enjoyed playing with his dad and his new ball outside the park much more. We found a cool playground too. Miles tested out the slide, rock walls, rope thing, and life in a sand pit. Miles did not want to leave…
Our time came to an end when the sun started to drop, taking the temperatures with it. We were ok with that since we were worn out from a long day outside. We still had a lot more planned for the night – but that’s another blog.
