Today, Miles and I ventured out to meet his new pediatrician. Can you believe we are on Miles’ 3rd doctor is just 2 short years? I’m not reckless, I just move around a lot! Don’t judge… :)
As usual, the nurse comes in a grabs his stats. She asked, “How old is he?” and she tries to flip through the chart…. I stated that he was two. “Wow… he’s a big kid!” Yeah, yeah, yeah! Heard that one before!
So here ya go – the big reveal! (ha ha)
37 inches tall (96%)
29.0 lbs (62%)
The nurse dismissed herself and the doctor came in shortly after. He looked through the chart and said - “Whoa – big kid! Ah, I don’t mean heavy, ah, he’s around 50% – but WOW – is his father tall? I mean, you’re tall for a woman too…..” I cut him off (no need for him to carry on like that!) and said “yes – his father is 6’5”.
Final summary – looks healthy! And since I didn’t have any concerns, Miles got 2 shots, a hemoglobin and lead check, and a sticker! His final suggestion was that with a kid that big – he NEEDS to be on a multi-vitamin!
Man, I should have been a doctor! He’s been on a vitamin for a long time now…. :)

So… Miles is now 2! What can he do?
He knows sooo many words:
- Transportation: car, truck, bike, motorcycle, bus, train, jeep, airplane, tractor
- All colors except for red – its always yellow, then green, and then he YELLS that its green. Sorry, buddy, yelling doesn’t change the fact that you’re wrong! It’s still red!!
- All body parts!
- Actions: jump, dance, sleep, potty, bounce, run, walk, listen, rock, ride, wash, etc.
- Manners: thank you, please, excuse me
- All family members… even Baby Kendall (Candle)
- the list goes on and on! I used to be scared about his language development… not anymore!
Comman Phrases:
- Are you OK?
- Oh, MAN!
- Excuse me, Mommy. Potty!
- watch Gabba Gabba
- Go Diego Go!
- Help Me!
- Stop it!
- Watch, mom! Ride Bo-Coo (Cooper)
- Bo-Coo, naughty!
- Not nice!

What else…
- Yes! Miles is potty trained, except for overnights!
- He loves to help cook
- Hates eggs, doesn’t care much for meat, but LOVES broccoli
- He loves to ride public transit, usually
- He loves to practice his ABC’s
- His current favorite color(s) seem to be green and pink!
- He loves football, basketball, baseball, hockey, helmets, and bikes
- He seems to write and eat right-handed, but ‘plays’ guitar and swings (bats, sticks etc) left-handed
- Loves music – dancing, singing, playing and listening!
- Still really enjoys art projects of any kind – paint, colors, play dough
I know I’m forgetting some of his wonderful talents, but that’s plenty of bragging for one day! I’m just grateful for my happy, hyper, smiley, adorable, TALL, 2-year-old blessing!
