I’ve been published – again!

YEAH!!!!  I’ve been published again…… :)  I know, I know – I’m turning into quite the author!

My previous publication was very scientific in nature.  I did a pig study for an employer and released the data into the public realm, a true feat of scientific excellence (thanks to my mentors).

The latest publication is a little different.  Though this one is also based entirely on fact and observation, it was published step by step for the last year and a half!  You’re right…. I’m talking about my blog.

On a weekly basis (at least in theory), I’ve been composing stories from our day to day lives and releasing the ‘data’ into the public realm!  Where some bloggers can make use of their site as a business or for sharing their talents and hobbies, I am blogging for purely nostalgic reasons…

We wanted to share our son’s development with friends and family far, far away – but later found an appreciation for the online journal ourselves. We love being able to reminisce about our past, especially Nathan! While Nate was in school, it even served as visual re-caps of Miles’ day.  It helped him to feel like he was missing out on a lot less…  Because I had made great friends at the daycare, I was able to get stories from his ‘school-time’ too.

Shortly after launching our blog from New York, I found a few sites where we could print our blog.  This helped motivate my blogging consistency.  I wanted to be able to compile the memories of Miles’ development and our family memories into something tangible.  I wanted to share my work with family and friends that do not have internet too!! Now that we are in Chicago, I thought that our ‘time in New York’ was a good cut off for our first PRINT!

To see what I mean… look below:

Here’s the front and back covers, respectively.  Yes, it’s a hardcover binding!!

I think its the perfect coffee table conversation piece!

The print quality is great … and everything prints BUT the videos - for obvious reasons!

There are so many sites to print your blog through.  I chose this one because of price and ease of set up.  Some let you customize every page of your book, importing text and pictures for new placement on the pages.  I, personally, didn’t have time for that.

This site allowed me to import my blog in its original format.  I also could have told it to adjust to efficient page usage (since it charges by the page), but it only ended up being a few dollars cheaper and my narrative occasionally moved away from associated pictures.

If you’re interested in following in our footsteps, I’ve placed a picture/link on the right side of our blog, below the visitor counter.  Just click and explore your options for printing your own blog!
