Consider it PURE JOY, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:2-5
As I sat on the sofa this afternoon staring at job website, after job search engine, after scientific staffing agency – I couldn’t help but wonder if I was missing something. Why is my job search so unproductive? I’ve applied for 50+ openings since moving to Chicago and nothing fruitful has come from it. I decided to take a break and search for wisdom instead of a job… I found James!
I know I cannot speak fully for Nate, but he found his job search in New York incredibly frustrating. He applied to more firms than I will mention and initially despised the fact that he was at home with Miles. Nate took a few steps back and searched for wisdom. He accepted his situation, found his time at home with Miles to be an amazing blessing, and now has a great job in Chicago! He persevered and is a much wiser, trusting man because of it!
I share a home with a living example of the truth found in James 1. Why has is taken me so long to ask the same questions? I definitely lack wisdom these days, among other things!!
I have always wanted to stay at home with my child(ren)….. I now have the chance to do it, but have been too preoccupied with a job search to fully engage and appreciate the time I’ve been given to stay home. It’s time to re-establish priorities and be more efficient with my day! My family deserves better, don’t you think?
God will provide.. He always does! Just look at where we have been!!!! Why would He stop now?!?
You comments/suggestions/concerns are welcome!
Thanks for listening. I really needed to clear my head and share my thoughts.

I'm praying for you a lot Kelly! Your words were a good reminder for me too. Love ya!
What a great reminder! It is a true privilege to be able to stay home and I'm so glad you're getting to do so. Thanks for sharing God's wisdom!
Kelly, What a great truth... we're studying a book on contentment... and what you're saying is so true. Accept and love where God has you right now - a truth we all need to hear! Blessings & Love!
