Happy St. Patrick's Day from our Not-Irish Family...
On Saturday, Chicago launched their St. Patrick's Day Festivities....
Not only was there a parade, but the river was dyed GREEN.
Nate was busy working his weekend side jobs and attending a meeting with contractors, so we missed the actual dying of the river. I considered taking Miles to the parade, but it was cold, during his naptime, and could never compete with the Macy's parade... so I decided against it!
I spent the morning cleaning and dancing with Miles. Nate returned from his meetings around 4:30pm. We loaded the family into the car in order to see the infamous green river. Because I know many of you are thinking it - Yes, this river is usually on the green side - but for the next 24 hours or so, the river was a much prettier green :)
After spending time gazing at the green, we walked a little further downtown. We couldn't help but notice all of the crazies stumbling out the bars in every green accessory and article of clothing they could get their hands on. That's also when we noticed the time and our grumbling tummies.
We made a pit stop at Rock Bottom to eat and warm up. Miles had a blast decorating the "table cloth paper."
Check out his most recent masterpiece!
So.. that's about as green as we get!
How are you celebrating?
